Sweet Nothing.......

Hi Guys, Hope all ok with you......It's another soggy day here in Cornwall, everywhere you look there are puddles, some as big as lakes...... and they say when it stops raining it's going to get colder and maybe freeze great..... oh well roll on summer...... anyhow, me I have done sweet nothing, yes I mean sweet nothing...... I have course work coming out of my ears, and a craft room screaming for attention, what is wrong with me.... have I lost the motivation cell in my brain, because that's what it feels like, I go into my craft room, and just stand in the doorway, looking at all the die cutting machines, card stock, embellishments, believe you me it's not because I have a shortage of crafting materials, my room is overflowing with stuff, half finished projects, die-cut frames and flowers, maybe I should get hubby to lock me in there one evening that way I might get on with it...... when I get up in the morning I am full of energy, go up the yard sort my boy out, ride him in the school, take dogs for a good run around the fields, on the return to home, I do some house work, get tea ready, by the time I have done all that my energy levels are zilch...... and all I want to do is sit and relax with a coffee on the sofa, watching.... get this Create and Bloody Craft, thinking to myself I really should be doing some of that myself, not sitting here watching other people doing it...... maybe I should get myself a tonic, one of those for the over fifties, because I am over fifty, perhaps I am being to hard on myself, as I am no spring chicken after all...... so I know I keep saying it.... but hubby is watching the footie on Wednesday, so that be the ideal time to lock myself away in my craft room, and try to get myself motivated, I can only but try........

Found Some......

Morning All,
Well it's a grey old day here in Cornwall, rain and wind, so I think we had better batten down the hatches..... me I will be at work, working in tropical heat, well that's what it feels like, even though the weather is grotty, it is not that cold not really, but as you can imagine because I work with the elderly and infirm the temperature is quite high, so we all feel like we are melting on some occasions, anyhow, I know I have not been in touch for a couple of day's work an all....... but if you have been reading my blog, you will have noticed that I have said I have no motivation of late..... well on Wednesday, my daughter Teresa asked if I would go to Materlan with her, so I obliged and guess what ...... I did some Christmas shopping real Christmas shopping, not like the other day, when my excuse for shopping was some Sepia luggage tags witch hopefully I will let my imagination loose on...... my theme for wrapping the pressies this year is brown parcel paper tied with raffia and tartan ribbon, A touch of nostalgia,  still got to get the ribbon, will make a note to oneself to look on e-bay ..... so I came back laden with bags yippee, but still have got a few to get yet ....... hubby being the most awkward, still I have a couple of weeks yet, what's the panic.... also I am going to get down to making my cards, I know you are all thinking crikey girl you are leaving it a bit tight, but I think I work better under stress......although I do not think hubby has the same view, I think it might have something to do with me flapping around the house, shrieking like a banshee, so I am going to love and leave you know, might have a quick look on e-bay for some ribbon, before getting ready for work......

Three Legged Chair .........................

Good Afternoon Readers,
It's a grey old day here in Cornwall, has been for the last couple of day's, never mind..... well all the things I had planned to do at the weekend went out of the window, nobodies fault no great catastrophes, not the end of the world, but me little ole me, I had these great ideas last week, to go Christmas shopping, didn't happen, and to get down to some serious crafting at the weekend, once again didn't happen ...... why I keep asking myself didn't you just get of your backside and get on with it ....... and I just can't give a reason, I just did not feel like doing anything, apart from looking after my horse and of course the rabble, oh yes and not forgetting hubby, and going to work ..... Saturday I met my friend Sherry, ( ah I did get a couple of Christmas Presents maybe I could class that as my Christmas Shopping Hmm)  and we had a drink well a couple actually, and sat talking about everything and anything, we also booked our Christmas Dinner which will be on the  19th of December, with a few friends from work, and on Sunday after I did my chores up at the stables, I came home did a little bit around the house, and I mean a little bit, then sat with hubby and watched a couple of films, and it was great, although at one small moment, I did feel a bit guilty, especially when I think of the crafting material I have in my craft room.... but the guilt did not last long, especially when the second film started, so this week I am not going to make any plans to do anything, that way I can't disappoint myself, but before I go I must tell you a funny story..... in my craft room I had one of those wicker chairs with the wooden legs, which my pups at one time thought was great to chew the legs of..... and the one at the back was getting thinner and thinner, needless to say hubby sat on the chair one morning and yes you've guessed it, the chair collapsed and hubby ended up on the floor, unfortunately I was not there to see it, probably just as well, as we would have both ended up on the floor........ Ah yes also if you have been reading my blog you will see I am in a bit of a dilemma as to were to put my Christmas Tree this year, because of said pups chewing all they can get there grubby little paws on, when hubby came up with the idea of, how about in next door...... great help,

Christmas Spirit.......

Good Morning All.

What A grey start to the day, up early this morning as I am in to work..... so lots to do before I go, rabble have been going mad this morning, I think they know it's nearly Christmas..... and are getting excited about Santa coming, Hubby got them one of those Christmas stockings each last night, when he went shopping, and he never buys anything till the last minute..... maybe he is getting caught up in the Christmas spirit......Hmm not so sure about that one, me well I was supposed to go Christmas shopping this week, and guess what..... I never went, keep putting it off I will have to go soon, as Christmas will be over and I will have nothing, maybe not a bad idea, God I sound like the Grinch, when in actual fact I quite like Christmas, my favourite day being Christmas Eve, I love it the smell of the baking mince pies, and Christmas puds, candles flickering in hand painted holders, I love it, In a bit of a quandary this year as to were to put the Christmas tree..... as the pups are still demolishing anything they can get there paws on.....I think it's a lab thing, so the tree is going to be a great new toy for them, unless I can suspend it from the ceiling some how, oh well sure I can work something out, could always have it in the bathroom !!!!!!!!!!
Well have to love and leave you need my caffeine intake before work, so take care all speak again soon.

Sunburn in November.......

Good afternoon  all

Well it's a glorious day here in Cornwall today, mainly blue sky, with a dotting of grey clouds, and so warm.... when I left the house at 06.10 this morning, my temp gauge in my truck was reading 11 degrees, what's happening to the weather, or is the calm before the storm I wonder, last week on AOL, they were giving out weather warnings, snow ice etc..... I was sat outside up at the yard this morning, and I have actually caught the sun on my face, so I am looking rather healthy, which is why I wonder, I had a rather lovely compliment today, you see I had to go to the doctors, to pick up a prescription for hubby, and went to the chemist to collect it, gave the prescription to the pharmacist, and as she walked away, I asked her if she would like me to pay for it now, to which she replied, you don't need to pay for your prescription as Mr Bridesmith is 60, which he was in June, ( oh dear )so we then started to talk about other things, that you don't pay for any more once you reach the ripe young age of 60, she said I should get my dad to enquire about his TV licence, well I just stood there, I had just left the yard, rather dishevelled  looking, hair raked back in a headband no makeup on, so I  said to the nice young lady behind the counter, that Mr Bridesmith was in actual fact my husband and not my dad, and that I was 56, well the poor girl went red as a beetroot, and was so apologetic, and could not believe I was as old as I had informed her, well as you can imagine, I left the chemist with a spring in my step, came home and of course told Brian he need not pay for his medication anymore ( he is an asthmatic) which he was pleased about, and of course I had to tell him what the pharmacist said, well I know it was a bit a mean, but it may never happen again......

Lack of Motivation......

Good Afternoon All,

Well the weather is much better today here in Cornwall, yesterday it was that misty rain that everybody is know calling mizzle, so left a note for hubby to put washing on the line, of which he obliged, but I know I should not complain.... but don't know about you, but are you fussy about how your washing is hung on the line or is it just me..... I have to have three pegs on towels one each corner and one in the middle, trousers have to be hung from the waste, and tops and shirts are hung from the bottom, well I got home from the yard and had to go straight out in to the garden and re hang my washing..... but he did try bless him, took the rabble for there morning run up at the stables today, and they were chasing the ball around the field as per usual, when all of a sudden Chumleigh let out this almighty howl, I went running across the field, and bless him he had caught his tail on the electric fence, and he did look sorry for himself, but after a lot of fuss he was soon charging (excuse the pun) across the field again, returned back to the Wendy house and had a cuppa with girls, after I had rode my boy Ace, I finished my chores at the yard and returned home, with all good intentions....but as all good intentions go, my went by the by, I need to get myself motivated, but just can't seem to do it, maybe it's a faze I'm going through at the moment, (she say's) sitting at her computer with a mug of coffee and a biscuit....when I should be doing oh so many other things, like making my Christmas cards, I think I have made about 5, only about another twenty to go, and how long is it till Christmas, so I am going to love and leave you all, and nip over to Tesco's to see if they sell bags of motivation and if so I wonder if it is double points......

Birthday Girl.....

Good Afternoon All,

I am back at my desk, after four hectic days....... three of which I was working, ahh and on Friday I had a family Funeral, so I am hopefully back on track this week, well it is my eldest daughter Sarah's Fortieth Birthday today, were has the time gone.... it only seems like yesterday she was starting school, now she is a mother herself, anyhow I rang her this morning and she sounds dreadful, full of cold bless her, so I think she is going to be pampered a bit today hopefully, not sure what her children have planned for her, my grandson Michael is 21 so I am sure he will think of something, and  we are planning to go and have a spa day sometime soon,
so looking forward to that, have not done any crafting ....... and I am beginning to get with drawl symptoms , but have the weekend of work, so I plan to spend Sunday crafting, fingers crossed, I  also need to do a bit of shopping this week, for Christmas, so hopefully Wednesday I will hit the shops, it's all go..... I did receive some good news on Thursday, I have passed my Safe Handling of Medication Level 2, so I am able to give out the medication at work, so am pleased about that, I seem to be doing more exams now that I did when I was at school,  better late than never.... anyhow I have just heard the kettle calling, and I had better answer him, before he boils over, so will  speak again tomorrow take care all,

Well Nearly Did It Again........

Good Afternoon All.

Hope you are all well, weather the last couple of day's has not been to bad, cold but at least dry, if while reading this blog you notice more spelling mistakes than usual, it's because Queen Smarty Pants is sitting on my lap with her head on the edge of the computer keyboard, refusing to sit any were else, even though I have tried......anyhow yesterday I was working, so the rabble had to stay home alone ahhhh bless, so I went home at lunchtime to feed them and let them out in to the garden, even though they come and go as they please through the flap we have in the back door, greeted as usual, and quite shocked when I found they had not demolished all they could there paws on.....Hmmm which in it's self is rather suspect, so got there feed bowls out, to give them dinner, and happened to notice that Chumleigh was looking rather fat and Toby who is smaller in statue anyway also looking rather portly, by the way Queen Smarty Pants was also on the round side, then I noticed why, they had managed to open the door to the room were the food is kept, there food that is, and they had a whale of time munching on the sack of food that was in there.......so needless to say no dinner was given, and also a quick phone call to hubby, to say do not give them any tea, so when I left to go back to work I left behind three disgruntled dogs, I am sure as I left I heard Chumleigh ask Queen Smarty Pants if she knew the phone number to the RSPCA. Anyway all feed routines are resumed today. Well anybody who has been reading my blog, will know that I had to have my beloved horse Dazzle put to sleep last week, I am lucky enough to still have my boy Ace, but today up at the yard, Sarah said she was selling her horse Jay Jay, so my mind started to buzz, shall I ask hubby if I can have him, would I be able to afford to buy him, my mind was racing, but then I thought hang on nothing would ever be the same as Dazzle, I trusted her with my life, I did ask my hubby, but deep down I knew what he would say, but I had to ask anyway, and while I was thinking things through in my head, I made a decision to do some dressage with my boy, after all the great Mary King told me you are never to old... and getting back to buying Jay Jay, don't worry mum, I won't but I did come close to breaking my promise to you.....

Poetry in Motion........

Good Morning All,

Yes it is only 6.00 in the morning, and I was going to have a lie in, but the pups thought differently,
well this weather does not seem to know what to do, here in Cornwall we have had sun, rain, hail, what's next I wonder, and it's pretty dam chilly.
Well I had a great day yesterday, spent the whole day up at the yard, left hubby rabble sitting, we had the brilliant Mary King, up at the yard yesterday, to open the new school, we have just had built, and she was amazing, anybody who read's this and is in to horses, will know what I mean, I was lucky enough to see her at the Olympics this year, when our equestrian team won the silver medal, she arrived in this huge lorry, how she managed to get it down the windy lanes in Constantine I don't know......anyhow she arrived at the yard, the new school was packed with spectators, and we had front row seats, one of the perks of being livery at Bosvathick Riding School. She brought two of her amazing horses with her Temptress, and of course the amazing Imperial Cavalier, the won she rode at the Olympics, we were in awe of her, what she did with those horses, was amazing and she made it look so effortless, at half time she asked if anybody had any questions, she talked to the crowd the whole time she was riding, after the break she came in to the arena on Imperial Cavalier, he was magnificent, it brought tears to my eyes, he stood so proud, and then she jumped these quite large jumps, and he seemed to just glide over them, it was a wonderful sight. At the end she had a book signing, of her new Autobiography, and her mum was with her, who turns out to be the driver of her huge lorry, while I was waiting to get my book I chatted to her mum for a while, who actually does not like horse's and never has, she will not even bring one in from the fields on her own, and I did get to hold the silver medal that Mary won at the Olympics, and tell you what it was heavy, it had a wonderful angel on it, then it got to my turn for a book, and Mary asked if I had enjoyed the show, and if she had explained things to us clearly, and also if I had learned anything, to which I replied, yes I wish I had started riding at a younger age, Mary replied you are never to old, and to follow you're dreams...... she signed my book,
In the Memory of Dazzle Best Wishes Mary King.

Rubber Gloves.....

My Quote for October

Good Afternoon All,

Hope all is well with you, the weather here in Cornwall is freezing, on the way to the yard this morning my temp Gage in my truck read 5 degrees, I was so cold I took a hot water bottle with me, yes I do have a heater in my truck, it's just I find a hot water bottle is so comforting, anyhow apart from the weather it's not been to bad, except for the pups that is, I think they have a thing for rubber gloves, on the past two mornings they have managed to get my Marigolds from the draining board in my kitchen, and completely demolished them, Toby actually greeted me at the door with a yellow finger in his mouth, bit of a give away there I think, I just don't know were they are getting all the other things I am finding in the middle of floor, I have never seen half the stuff, unless they are going into my neighbour Bill's and pinching it from his house and bringing it back into ours, if we didn't have a six foot fence between the garden I would probably think that was the case........ so I am stumped, so they have been in my bad books twice this week, God knows what they are doing with my socks, I am finding it very difficult finding a matching pair, but hey ho isn't it supposed to be the rage at the moment to wear odd socks, if so I am way up there with the hip young people of today......and to cap it all, I looked out of the kitchen window this afternoon, to find Toby hanging on to the end of a towel that was on the line......oh well that is one of the many joys of owning animals, and no matter how down you are feeling, they always manage to make you smile......
